Develop/Manage Junior Talent

Brand/Corp Side Experience
(strongly preferred)


This role is responsible for managing and running the functional execution of sensory and product research projects from start to finish. In addition, management of the execution team (approximately 5 direct reports).

The Ideal Candidate 

-Must have experience developing and managing junior talent (sensory project managers, sensory and consumer insights researchers)
-10 years in a people leadership role within a sensory and product research function

Responsibilities:

-Lead the deployment and improvement of sensory evaluation capabilities. 
-Ensure the quality of the data and consumer panels.  
-Responsible for responsible for day-to-day communication including processing requests and ensuring the workload is properly assigned and distributed.  
-Responsible for survey programming, field execution coordination, and consumer panel maintenance.  
-Manages, facilitates, generates insights and write reports for consumer panel projects.  
-Ensure build-up of department expertise, tools and techniques and their practical dissemination 
- Works with business teams to design, execute and report on consumer and sensory research studies utilizing qualitative, quantitative and usability expertise.

Skills and Experience:

-10 years demonstrated experience leading sensory and consumer product research products 
-Ability to design experiments, gather and analyze data and translate findings into meaningful recommendations
-Ability to offer thought leadership and strategic recommendations to internal business clients 
-Proficiency in statistical analysis 
-Knowledge and experience in research design and application
-Fluency in discrimination testing and descriptive analysis.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills a must

Leadership:

-Must have experience developing and managing junior talent
-5 years in a people leadership role within a sensory and product research function
-Recruit, motivate and develop staff to ensure high-level competencies and customer service
-Proven ability to mentor, coach and develop a team of sensory researchers and project managers

Education:

-BS degree in sensory science, food science, nutrition, psychology or statistics from an accredited university. Relevant Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
